[Review] Highlands Sleeping Bag by Ruffwear

Sometimes I think back to camping adventures we’ve had when we’ve muttered, “I wish we had a sleeping bag for Hank,” and think that maybe one of those times someone from Ruffwear overheard us saying that. Really though, there are dogs all over that love to camp but are sensitive to the cold just like Hank! We were so psyched when Ruffwear came out with the Highlands Sleeping Bag.

Even if you don’t camp with your dog, it’s a great warm layer to have for them even just in the car. Built with the same quality and attention to detail as all of their products, the Highlands Sleeping Bag will withstand the abuse from the many camping adventures in the future.

The polyester shell is both water resistant and easy to wash so when your dog and gear is covered in desert dust, you won’t spend days getting sand out of every crook and cranny. The outer fabric is also extremely durable which is a must for a product such as this!

The synthetic insulation and baffle-esque stitching provides even warmth and comfort on the chilliest of spring nights for Hank. Even when it’s not super cold out, it is really nice to have a layer between the ground and Hank inside the tent.

The integrated sleeve for the Highlands Pad is essential in ensuring that the pad and sleeping bag stay together as a system. While we have not personally tried the Highlands Pad, it would make a great addition to the bed! There are also four loops on the bottom of the sleeping bag that are perfect for staking your bed in place. Between the wind and Hank constantly moving around when he’s trying to get comfortable, it’s ideal to be able to stake it into place!

If you’re like us and your dog is with you on any adventure you embark on, your dog will thank you for the Highlands Sleeping Bag. Hank loves how warm and soft the inside of the Highlands Bag is and sleeps much more soundly in a tent with it!
