[Review] Pro Guide I by Adventure Medical Kits

Whether you’re a day-tripper, weekender, or professional backcountry traveler, an Adventure Medical Kit should be a vital piece of gear in your pack. The range of kits that Adventure Medical Kits offers is abundant so no matter what you find yourself getting into in the backcountry, you can have an appropriately sized and stocked medical kit.

For our recent motorcycle trip to Baja we took the Professional Guide I to cover a wide array of emergencies. We weren’t sure what to expect on our trip, but with the nature of off-road motorcycling, we figured it’d be best to be prepared for the worst.

Not only is the kit extremely well organized and put together, it includes the book Comprehensive Guide to Wilderness & Travel Medicine, explaining popular incidents that could happen to your or someone you are traveling with.   While it is nice to have a little bit of training in the medical field (Tyson and I both took an EMT-B class), if you are not at all experienced in an emergency situation you should be able to help with this kit in hand.

We would recommend thumbing through the book, figuring out where the supplies is located in the kit, and having an overall idea of what is included inside your kit. This is not something that we did before our trip. We simply put a lot of trust into the Adventure Medical Kit and hoped that it would have what we needed. We didn’t even bring any type of medications (like Imodium or Advil). We were very appreciative of the comprehensive and inclusive kit that we had brought with us and it didn’t let us down.

From safe and protected CRP administration, to cuts and wounds, to fractures and sprains, the Professional Guide I is an extensive and well-organized kit for any adventure you may undertake. The kit weighs 4 lbs 9 oz and is fairly compact for what it includes. If you are simply going on a four-hour hike, this is not the right kit for the job so be sure to check out Adventure Medical Kits for an appropriate alternative (they have many options!).

While we didn’t have to take any life saving measures with the Professional Guide I, we would’ve been prepared to do so! If you do a lot of backcountry or extremely remote traveling, I would highly recommend being prepared for the worst and Adventure Medical Kits can help you do so with experience and reliability!
