[Review] The Karadon 5 by High Sierra

If you’re looking for a simple, affordable, and well-designed daypack for hiking, mountain biking or anything in between, look no further than the Karadon 5 by High Sierra. This 5-liter hydration pack will fit all of your daily essentials, complete with two inner secure pockets for your valuables, a small cell pocket that is easily accessible, and a dedicated sleeve for your hydration system (hydration system not included!).

The size of the Karadon 5 is perfect for any daily adventure. I can easily fit 1-2 extra layers, snacks, a 2-liter hydration system, keys and money, a cell phone, a GPS unit, and a camera. Don’t have room on the inside for your rain gear? Pull out the hidden helmet net and strap down your rain gear with it.

The Karadon is super comfortable and light enough that it wont weigh you down on a long day of mountain biking. The straps are very adjustable, which is key for us women. Whether you have a long or a short torso, the Karadon will adapt to your body. The sternum strap slides up and down which is especially important for us women if you know what I mean.

Another neat feature that helps with comfort and fit with the Karadon is the removable firm back panel. If you prefer a softer fit against your back, you can remove the support. If you’re like me and prefer a firm fit against the back, simply leave the support in place.

Large zipper pulls ensure you won’t be fumbling around with frozen fingertips and small reflective details throughout add a touch of safety to your back should you get caught out in the dark.

This is a simple daypack yet the attention to detail makes it extremely functional and usable, while being affordable. Be sure to check out High Sierra for all your pack needs. The Karadon comes in different sizes and colors so there is an option for everyone.
