[Review] The Beretta Gore-Tex 3L Bibs by Dakine

When Dakine states on their website that the Women’s Beretta Gore-Tex 3L Bib “is the bib that you’ve been dreaming of,” they’re absolutely correct (www.dakine.com). Between the flattering yet comfortable fit, ultimate Gore-Tex protection, and ample and appropriately placed pockets, once you go Beretta Bibs, there’s no going back!

Built with Gore-Tex 3-Layer construction, you can ensure that the Beretta bibs will keep you dry while allowing for breathability. This tech helps make these the ultimate backcountry bib. You’ll be hot on the way up and cool on the way down and if you’re not wearing breathable pants, that overabundance of heat will cause even more cooling than necessary when you start to head down. I’ve always had really great luck with Gore-Tex products and even on the wettest of days, when I feel there’s no way I could still be dry underneath my Gore layers, it has always impressed with totally dry base layers.

I hands down love the fit of the Beretta Bibs. I am 5’10 and usually wear a size large in outer layers. I went with the large in these and I am glad I did. When I first put them on, I thought there was no way I could actually ski in them because the thighs were a little bit tight. After wearing them once, it was clear that I didn’t even notice the tightness! What I love about these bibs is that they fit so they’re flattering but they don’t restrict any movement. There is some adjustability in the chest straps to ensure a perfect fit. If you think you’re rubbing your nipples raw, just try adjusting those up or down (learned the hard way).

I hate to say I’m a judgmental person, but I judge a pair of bibs/pants on the pocket situation. With the Berretta bibs, the pockets are abundant and placed perfectly. The through pocket on the chest is huge and perfect for media or for warming up your hands after a day of skiing. The best pocket is the pocket that’s accessed through the vent and is on the inside of the pant leg. This is a perfect place to keep a Clif Bar so that it doesn’t freeze! I can also see myself keeping some GoPro batteries in this pocket to extend the life of them.

Hopefully you’ve made it this far into the write-up because I’ve left the best feature for last. The drop seat construction on these bibs is GOLD. It makes going to the bathroom in bibs way less of a pain in the ass than it normally would. You don’t have to take all of your layers off in order to use the bathroom you just have to unzip your drop seat and go! Bibs without a drop seat are still amazing, but to me, this feature is a huge bonus.

If you’re ready to seriously up your outerwear game for deep pow days, the Berretta Bibs will be your favorite new bibs to wear on any adventure. I’ve paired them with the Dakine Weatherby Jacket for the ultimate combo to keep me dry, stylish, warm, and comfortable all day.
