[Review] Women’s High Top Boots #1351 by Blundstone

It’s going to be hard to keep this short but I’ll try. Blundstones have made, hands-down, the best work-boot for women on the planet. This is not up for discussion. I have specific needs that my work-boot must meet and these pass with flying colors. It took me a long time to find them, but I’m so glad I did. I’ve been the ground manager for an aerial application company for 10 years and for the first 4 years, I was buying shitty work-boots every season. They’d get me through (with lots of pain) but I’d have to throw them away at the end of each season. We work May-September, 7 days a week and we work long days. I’ve had my first pair of Blundstone High Top Chelsea 1351 boots for 5 seasons and they have endured a ton of abuse. It should be noted that I have done nothing to take care of them to help them stay healthy (but there are tips for you to take very nice care of your Blundstones and I recommend it). Even without care, these easily still have a lot of life left in them.

We were beyond psyched when the opportunity arose to work with Blundstone this year and they sent me a new pair of High Top Chelsea Boots. With the combination of genuine, high-quality leather, a rubber outsole, and an extremely comfortable midsole, the 1351’s are stylish and get me through the longest of workdays without fatigue.

While they are not waterproof, they are water-resistant. I personally really like the look of the High Top Chelsea over the Original Chelsea as it adds a little bit of femininity with the detailing around the cuff. I have to wear grungy clothes every day for work so I like that they are just a little bit more feminine than the traditional Chelsea. Of course, you have your standard Blundstone pull tabs to help get the Chelseas on with ease.

The sizing is spot on and after getting my second pair of 1351s, I would say these do require a slight bit of time to break-in. I am typically a size women’s 8 and I ordered the 8 (5 AU/UK). My older Blundstone’s feel like slippers whereas my new ones are a bit stiff and tight to get on. It’ll be best if after you get your Blundstones, you wear them on short stints before heading in to work with them for your 12-hour shift.

The rubber outsole is, believe it or not, something I had a very challenging time finding in women’s work boots. The rubber outsole is key for my job because climbing up on the airplane if there is even a drop of water it is very slick! Not only does the rubber outsole provide superior comfort, it grips on the slickest materials. It also sounds a little odd but I do a lot of running in my job (to and from the airplane) and these are great for that. I wouldn’t want to go run a marathon or anything but to the office from the load site, they do well when I hustle and keep my feet feeling good.

If you are looking for a serious work boot that will take on years of abuse, look no further than Blundstone. I seriously couldn’t say enough good things about these work boots and have put them through the ultimate test over the last five work seasons. If you’re not crazy about the High Top #1351s, be sure to check out the Blundstone Original Chelsea. If you’re interested in purchasing a pair of Blundstones, doing so using our provided link supports us as we get a small kickback from your purchase. We appreciate the support!

*We received these boots for free in exchange for a review, however, it’s important to know that all thoughts are our own. My first pair of Blundstones I purchased and I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
