[Review] The Influence Case by Catalyst

If you’re looking for a sleek and slim option to protect your iPhone, look no further than the Influence Case by Catalyst. The Influence Case is barely noticeable, has a slim and sleek design, and will protect your phone if dropped from 10 feet or below. When I’m using my phone day to day, I like to know that if I drop it, it will be protected. If I’m taking a trip down near the ocean or water, I like to throw one of Catalyst’s waterproof cases on to keep all the water and sand out. More on that later.

I love that the Influence case matches my iPhone and it isn’t noticeable. It’s great that I can have the peace of mind that my phone is protected from drops and dings without having to have a huge clunky case on.

My personal favorite feature of the Influence case is that the edges are slightly raised. This protects the glass on your phone both on the front screen and camera lenses. I think it’s the silliest design on Apples part, but the camera lenses are raised pretty far off the back of the phone. That means that if you set your phone down on anything, the lenses could potentially scratch because that is the first (and only) point of contact. If you have the Influence case installed, you no longer have to worry about scratching or damaging your screens.

Unlike some phone cases that are sleek and easy to lose out of your hand, the Influence case is made with a matte outer with textured borders. It’s kind of hard to see in the photos but it’s easy to grip your phone even if it gets damp.

The mute switch is a patented design by Catalyst and it works really well. You simply rotate the dial to quickly switch from muted to unmuted. It’s not hard to move the dial, doesn’t break off after only a few uses. Again, the buttons are textured so they are easy to operate, even with gloved hands.

In each corner, the Influence case is built with Catalyst’s Crux Attachment system. It’s quick and easy to install the included lanyard. I like to attach a lanyard for extra protection when I’m at work just to prevent as many drops as I possibly can.
