[Review] The Women’s Liberty Alpine by the Muck Boot CO

If a boot is not functional or cut out for the extremes, it’s pretty darn useless to me. In the winter especially, I constantly find myself grabbing for the big snow boot over the cute leather bootie. Ever since receiving the Women’s Waterproof Liberty Alpine boot by the Muck Boot Company, that has changed. Now I can have a cute and stylish boot that is still waterproof, durable and has an outsole that will withstand even the slickest of conditions.

My favorite thing about the Liberty Alpine is that I can look cute and stylish, yet my feet stay dry and warm no matter the conditions. As well as being waterproof, the premium full-grain leather upper is paired with a neoprene tongue and around the ankle for comfort.

I’m definitely not a heel person and I really don’t tend to get too wild or fancy with my footwear. The stacked 1.25” heal on the Liberty Alpines is enough to give you a little height and stand out as a lifestyle boot, but not too much that you won’t be able to wear them all day long. I normally can’t really find myself to be comfortable in heels but these are a surprising exception.

The rubber rand running around the entire boot is really nice for added durability and longevity. It’s not really noticeable in terms of looks but does do a great job of protecting the leather upper.

As mentioned earlier, the outsole on the Liberty Alpine does really well in snowy and slick conditions. It’s not overly aggressive tread that makes the boot look funny but it is just enough to grab some grip when you need it most.

As far as sizing goes, I’m normally a size women’s 8. I went up to an 8.5 (yes, half sizes!) in this boot because I wanted to be able to wear a thicker sock. Bear in mind that this is not an insulated boot so while it will keep the elements out, you’re responsible for some insulation (thicker wool socks). I would recommend that if you see yourself wearing these in a mild climate, order your normal size.

If you’re looking for an extremely cute and stylish boot that won’t be left behind when the weather turns, look no further than the Women’s Waterproof Liberty Alpine. I’m always blown away when a super cute boot is made for the elements and we’re happy that the Muck Boot Company continues to establish a solid line of lifestyle boots. We’ve not ever had a Muck Boot we didn’t love.

Overall

9.5/10

Pros

  • Superior quality
  • Waterproof and cute
  • Comes in 1/2 sizes!
  • Very comfortable especially for having a 1.25" heel
  • Tread works well in slick conditions

Cons

  • I do feel like these are maybe a bit more than I'd spend on a lifestyle boot but that is me. I feel as though the price is comparable and even lower than most leather boots you will find like this.
