[Review] Le Bent Products (Best Ski Socks I’ve Ever Worn)

Le Bent has created some of the softest and most comfortable layers in our closets thanks to their innovative blend of rayon from bamboo, merino wool, and nylon and or elastane. We were first introduced to Le Bent with the Le Sock and our love only grew deeper after that!

The Le Sock Hike Light Crew are incredibly comfortable socks and fit like a dream. There’s never any extra material that causes irritation on your feet. If you’re like Tyson and have a bit of a sweat problem, the rayon from bamboo+merino combo will keep your usually sweat-soaked feet feeling dry and airy all day long. In fact, Tyson wore his socks for 4 days straight and didn’t ruin the socks or any friendships (they really didn’t even stink after day four). Not only are these socks great for long hiking trips, they’re nice to wear for cold winter days. We wear them all the time, no matter what we’re up to.

After the Hike Light Crew we tried out the Le Sock Snow Light. This is really where my world was turned upside down. I’m constantly on the hunt for the best ski socks for my sensitive and cold feet. What I first noticed when I slipped on the Snow Light sock was how amazingly soft it was up against my skin. I couldn’t believe how well the sock fit and there was no extra material anywhere! Not even on top of my hardly-visible pinky toe. It’s like these socks were designed specifically for my feet.

Once I slipped them into my ski boots, I knew I’d never want to wear another sock brand again. One major problem I have, aside from my feet getting really cold, is the fact that I have heaters in my boots that cause a bit of moisture. When the moisture just sits up against my skin all day, it becomes really uncomfortable. The merino and rayon from bamboo blend pulls the moisture away from your skin in a way that a merino only sock doesn’t. The Le Sock Snow Light was quickly taking care of all my ski sock issues. They are hands down, the best ski socks I’ve ever worn.

We were also ecstatic to have the opportunity to try the Le Base 260 Crew and got even more excited when we ripped open the packaging to feel the softness of the top. It’s Le Bent’s warmest base layer and is built of a blend of rayon from bamboo (66.5%), merino wool (30.5%) and elastane (3%). With this blend, we really believe you’re getting the best of both worlds. The rayon is extremely soft, while the merino helps with odor control and warmth. Together these materials work to keep you dry, smelling good and feeling good no matter what kind of cold weather adventure you’re embarking on.

For us the crew style is ideal and makes layering super easy on the coldest days. Tyson went with his normal size large and likes the fit of the Le Base. It’s long enough that it stays tucked in all day long and so comfortable you won’t want to take it off when you get back to the camper/condo/house after skiing. I went with a size medium and I personally like my base layers to fit tightly up against my skin. I’m a size 6/8 in tops and am 5’10. With Le Bent, next time I would size down to a small to get that tight fit that I prefer.

After the Le Base, we opened up the Le Neck Gaiter. Honestly, we kind of disregarded the Le Neck at first and thought it would be just like any other neck gaiter we had. Looking back, I couldn’t believe we weren’t more excited about the Le Neck! Using the same merino, rayon from bamboo, and elastane blend as the Le Sock and Le Base, the Le Neck proved to be the best neck gaiter ever!

It’s extremely soft and dries quickly which is super important on storm skiing days. A notable difference in the Le Neck compared to other neck gaiters out there is the fact that it is really tight and stays tight wear after wear. It won’t loosen up on you and become baggy. If you want an extremely soft neck gaiter with high performing qualities look no further than the Le Neck.

Overall, we were grateful to have the opportunity to soften up our winter with Le Bent. We wear base layers throughout all seasons whether we are skiing, biking, or motorcycling and the Le Base and Le Sock are going to transition over nicely to those activities. If you get into Le Bent, no matter how you do it (Le Base, Le Sock, Le Neck) you’ll be hesitant to wear any other layers.
