[Review] Tekmo Protection for KTM 790/890 ADV

When I get a new to me motorcycle, my first priority is making sure I get it as protected as possible so that when I inevitably abuse it, it won’t take all of the beating. Case covers are extremely important to me, especially because I’ve put a hole in my dirt bike stator cover in a remote area and it was kind of a stressful situation. While I won’t be riding my 790 in terrain that I ride my dirt bike, I still anticipate some rocky and techy roads so the added protection will put my mind at ease. Cases are expensive and covering them is cheap insurance.

Tekmo produces multiple products for the 790/890 but I went with the stator cover, the clutch cover, and the tank protectors. I was impressed with this gear when it arrived and it’s lightweight, affordable, clean looking, and easy to install.

Personally, I feel like these protectors have an impressive fit and finish and there weren’t any weird fitment issues upon installation. Not only is the Carbon Fiber-Kevlar Matrix a high quality and durable composite, but it also looks rad. These are all bolt-on covers and involve a straightforward and simple install.

Tekmo prides themselves on quality products at an affordable price and after having their products in my own hands, I couldn’t agree more. Not only do these covers and tank protectors allow me to have peace of mind, they are really nice looking and make me look really fast (I’m not fast). If you’re looking for carbon protectors that won’t break the bank, will be easy to install, and have an amazing finish, you’ve found them. Be sure to check out Tekmo for all of their offered products.

*We received this gear for free in exchange for a review, however, it’s important to know that all thoughts are our own.

Pros

  • Really fit and finish

Cons

  • These are all bolt on so my only concern is getting dirt/rocks behind them and rubbing/scratching the original case.
