[Review] Oberon Clutch Slave

While it wasn’t an absolutely necessary upgrade at the time, I decided to replace my KTM stock clutch slave with an Oberon Performance Clutch Slave Cylinder. I wasn’t willing to take a chance with the stock parts, and so I installed Oberon’s slave cylinder before heading to Baja. Not only does the Oberon Performance clutch slave ensure greater reliability, the “27mm piston reduces the heaviness of the original clutch action and brings much relief to aching arms” (taken from CJdesignsllc.com).

The install is very simple and straightforward. Simply replace the stock cylinder with this one and then bleed your clutch. The Oberon Clutch Slave comes with all necessary hardware.

I ordered my Oberon Slave Cylinder from CJ Designs because I was also shopping for some custom products made by CJ himself. Their customer service and quality of products is unrivaled.

If you ride an LC8 engine I would highly suggest making this upgrade! The LC8 slaves are a known issue and I enjoy preventing problems in my shop rather than trying to fix them out on the road. Cally’s slave cylinder went out soon after we returned from Baja, and unfortunately there is not an upgrade available for her LC4 640 Adventure from Oberon Performance.
