[Review] The Bravo Goggles by Spy Optic

Something that I’ve come to dread over time is switching my goggle lens. My hands just get so cold and it adds time and fumbling to the process of getting dressed. More times than not I would just ski with the wrong lens to avoid changing lenses. Now, thanks to Spy, they’ve developed the Lock Steady™ technology that allows for a lens change with a touch of a button. Among other amazing features, the quick Lock Steady quick-change lens system is by far the main reason for my love of the Bravo goggles by Spy.

The Bravo is a perfect midsize goggle frame for any of you lady rippers out there or men with smaller faces. The shape of the lens allows for an incredible field of vision and the first time I put the Bravo’s on, I couldn’t believe how clear and comfortable they were! The Triple-layer Isotron™ face foam with moisture-wicking Dri-Force™ fleece won’t trap your moisture and will conform to the shape of your face. It’s soft against the skin and molds to the shape of your face to ensure no air gaps are present. I love the wider set nose slot, as in past goggle experiences they are a really uncomfortable slit that don’t allow for ample nose breathing. With the wider set slot, your nose won’t feel any pressure.

The lens combo that comes with the Discrete + Spy color way will have you covered day in and day out, no matter the conditions. For the sunnier days, I use the Happy Dark Blue Spectra and for low light days, the Happy Lucid Red Lens. Both of the lenses are made with Spy’s See Happy technology. This is proven to make you happy when you’re wearing the lenses as the lens lets in the UV rays that beneficial to you but blocks the dangerous rays. Not only do they boost your mood, the contrast and clarity stands out.

Not only does the Bravo come with two lenses to keep your line visible no matter what the conditions, with the Lock Steady™ technology, they are extremely easy to change. This has been such a life changer! All you have to do is basically push a button, pop the lens off, put the other lens on and you’re good to go. The first time it is a little bit tedious to make sure everything is lined up but once you do it a few times, it becomes very easy.

The Bravo goggles by Spy have become my new favorite goggles whether I’m skiing in the resort or skinning up in the backcountry. Between the anti-fog and the strategically placed venting, I’ve had a hard time getting the Bravo’s to fog. They’ve never fogged in the resort even when I’m hiking up to the tops of bowls or in the terrain park. On my second lap in the backcountry I was able to get quite a bit of moisture build up (which is to be expected. I normally don’t wear my goggles when I’m skinning but wanted to see what it would take to get them to fog). In this situation, it is super easy to just remove the lens, wipe it dry, and put the lens back in without even taking the goggle frame off.
