[Review] The Bergtagen Stretch Trouser by Fjällräven

I’m feeling so set this year when it comes to outdoor pants for any adventure, thanks to trying out a few new styles of Fjällräven trekking trousers this spring. I’ve always loved my Nikka Trousers but I’m even more in love with the warm weather trousers that I’ve added to my quiver. The Bergtagen Stretch Trousers by Fjällräven are comfortable, flattering, and up for any adventure. They’re also wind-resistant and water-resistant which is key for spring, summer, and fall adventures in the high country. You won’t stay dry in a downpour but you’ll be fine when light moisture is present.

Most notably, when you slip these on for the first time, you’ll notice how incredibly stretchy these pants are. They almost feel like yoga pants when you have them on but come with amazing added benefits like durability, adjustability, and movability. Whether you’re checking 14ers off your list, heading out on a multi-sport adventure, or just going for day hikes locally, you won’t be disappointed with how the Bergtagen’s feel and fit.

Thanks to construction with Cordura fabric, these pants are really going to take the abuse and continue looking good for seasons to come. I’ve honestly never had a pant with so much stretch, that is also durable.

Adding to the overall comfort of the Bergtagen Stretch Trousers, there is a crotch gusset built-in and an elastic back waistband to keep these in place no matter how low you go. The pockets are simple yet functional and they are all zipper closures which earns many bonus points in my book. The lower side-thigh pockets are a bit smaller but also double as vents.

The slim fit of the Bergtagen Trousers is a huge selling point for me mostly because I think it’s a more flattering fit but I also don’t want a bunch of extra material if I’m doing something like rock climbing. Speaking of extra material, the cuffs are adjustable which is a feature that’s really been winning my heart over in pants lately. I like the option and you can easily adjust for the adventure you’re on.

As far as fit goes, I’m 5’10 and 155 pounds. I’m usually a size 8 in pants. Across Fjällräven’s line, I am consistently a size 40 for the mid-rise styles. The length is perfect in the Bergtagen Trousers and the fit flattering yet comfortable. I will say if these weren’t made with such a stretchy material, I would maybe consider sizing up one size but that is kind of relative.

If you’re looking for a well-fitting, flattering adventure pant, look no further than the Bergtagen Stretch Trouser! I also have to mention that I work in agriculture and have to wear long pants in the summer everyday and these make for amazing work pants as well. No matter the style, I can’t say enough good things about Fjällräven trousers. Find more Fjällräven reviews here
