[Review] Women’s Boundary Line Gore-Tex Insulated Bibs by Mountain Hardwear

If you’re not on the bib train, it’s about time you hop on. The Boundary Line Gore-Tex Insulated Bibs by Mountain Hardwear are the perfect bibs to keep you dry and warm no matter how gnarly this storm is. Personally for me, if I’m skiing at the resort I have to be wearing insulated layers. I just get too cold otherwise. With body-mapped synthetic insulation to keep you warm and a Gore-Tex 2L for waterproof and breathable shell fabric, these bibs are ideal.

An important feature I study before ordering a pair of bibs is how easy it is to go to the bathroom. Us ladies get the short end of the stick when it comes to peeing in the backcountry and of course winter gear adds a whole other dimension. With easy zip access on both sides, you can quickly get the back “flap” of the Boundary Line Bibs down to use the bathroom without taking your jacket/layers off. I’ve even found that I can unzip just one side and access that way.

Pockets are also a big one for me and the Boundary Line pockets exceed my expectations. The kangaroo style pocket on the chest is a great place to warm up your hands, keep a snack, or valuables. The two thigh pockets are also nice snack stashes and as a bonus are compatible if you’re wearing a harness. Zip closures all around ensure you won’t lose a dang thing!

I’m pretty excited about how these are sized. Mountain Hardwear offers them in XS-XL sizes in a regular or long length. These are the first pair of bibs I’ve ever seen to be offered in two different lengths. That is AMAZING. Yet somehow when I ordered these I completely skipped over that part and missed it. Oops. I’m 5’10 and 155 pounds and I am wearing a large regular. To be honest I feel like they are pretty big, but I usually size up to the large for the length. The perfect size for me would have been a medium long. I guess that’s what I get for not paying attention!

If you’re looking for a warm and waterproof pair of bibs for your winter adventures, look no further than the Boundary Line Bibs. With 2 inseam length offerings, you’re sure to find the perfect fit. It should also be noted that, while these are made with 2L Gore-Tex, they don’t feel like it. They are soft and nimble out of the box and won’t restrict your movement. I have these paired with the Firefall Insulated Jacket by Mountain Hardwear and it’s a sweet combo!
