[Review] I can’t take it off: The Tikse Long Sleeve by Kari Traa

The Tikse by Kari Traa is hands down my new favorite top no matter what I find myself doing. I’ve worn it on a run, ice climbing, skiing, and will soon be living in it out in the desert for moto rides and mountain biking. It’s the ultimate year round base layer that not only feels good it looks good too.

The Tikse is 100% Merino wool and if you know me, you know I’m a sucker for Merino. Not only is it extremely soft, it has a lot of benefits like odor control, breathability, and temperature regulation. I love the strategic paneling that is consistent throughout Kari Traa layers. With the Tikse, there is perforated merino throughout the underarm and back panel, allowing for ultimate cooling where you need it.

Not only is the paneling perfect for when you’re wearing a backpack on a spring tour, the panels are placed with care to ensure you won’t get any rubbing or discomfort from straps. Tactical placement as well as flat seam stitching gives you all day comfort no matter what you’re doing.

On our most recent ski trip, I had a hard time taking the Tikse off. I was overly impressed by how it didn’t smell by the end of week two. I only got in one shower and we had been out on some pretty warm days so I was definitely sweating while wearing the top. I wish I was making it up that it literally didn’t smell (actually I wish I could tell you that I never smell gross after not showering for weeks but…) by the end of the trip but I’m not!

The Tikse is so comfortable and soft it will be hard for you to take off. Whether you’re looking for a spring or fall layer for trail running or the perfect layer to wear on any of your winter adventures, look no further than the Tikse by Kari Traa. The only negative thing I have to say about any of my Kari Traa layers is that I find one or two that I absolutely love and then I only wear those layers for the entire ski season. This winter I’ve lived in the Tikse and the Svala Hoodie – check them out but be prepared to fall in love with your layers!
