[Review] Legacy 12 in. Camo Lined Boot by Xtratuf

I’ve been a fan of Xtratuf boots for quite some time but have only ever had the insulated Legacys. My feet are really hot and so I decided to try out the Legacy 12 in. boots. First of all, the height is perfect. They’re not too tall that I find myself always rolling them down but they are tall enough to keep most of the snow out.

I have these primarily for winter and spring conditions, and I will say that on cold surfaces my feet will get cold. If I’m in the mud throughout the spring, my feet are fine but they will get cold on snow and ice. I just adjust my sock thickness for whatever the conditions may be and since these are 100% waterproof, that makes for a really great winter boot. Hitting spring time in Canada, you couldn’t have a better boot. Parking lots are literally mud pits!

The outsoles are slip resistant and on snow and ice, I feel like I get pretty good traction overall. If the snow is really wet and thick, I do find that the snow packs into the sole and then the traction isn’t obviously as good.

In the summer time, we work around agricultural liquids and with the triple dipped latex outer, these boots will withstand any type of spill or exposure. They are chemical and acid resistant and are perfect for our line of work. Combined with the great traction, I won’t be slipping off any airplane wings.

I feel like for a 100% waterproof and chemical resistant boot, these are pretty darn comfortable. They’re not obnoxious to wear and I can still function normally while wearing them.

I’ve always been a size 10 in Xtratuf boots but for some reason these feel a little bit roomy. I think if I would’ve gone down to a size 9 they would be too tight but that comes with not having half sizes. On the flip side, I can wear thicker socks with these and still have room to breath.

I like the new edge that Xtratuf is adding to the inside liner of their boots. Now you can show a little bit of color or edge when you roll your Legacys down. The liner of these particular boots is camo but be sure to check out the other options so you can find something that fits your groove.

I don’t know what I would do without my Legacy Boots, especially when I’m sloshing around in the mud come spring time. They are ideal for leisure, ski trips, and any type of work. They are extremely affordable for the functionality and comfort of them and I’ll walk Hank in the spring conditions and then use them for work later in the day. If you are more inclined to use your Xtratuf boots in the winter and cold temperatures, I would highly recommend looking into the insulated versions they offer.
