[Review] The XL Zero Gravity Lounge Chair by Timber Ridge

When we go on trips with our camper to meet up with friends, we always get made fun of because we pull out the tiniest camp chairs for gathering around the fire or camp in the morning. We always say “they’re not that uncomfortable” and “yeah, but look how small they pack down.” Well, we have officially stepped up our camper porch game with the XL Zero Gravity Chair by Timber Ridge (paired with the Timber Ridge Director’s Chair). The Zero Gravity chair is literally more comfortable than most of the furniture in our house and we are really wondering why it took us so long to get some comfortable, life-size chairs to travel in the camper with.

The most notable feature of the Zero Gravity Chair is the comfort. Not only does the canvas padded upper and lower keep your body feeling good for long periods of time, the way that the canvas is attached to the frame allows for some give resulting in comfort no matter your size. It is truly unlike any foldable chair I’ve ever tried. I also love how the back reclines and you can kick your feet up for ultimate relaxation. You can also lock the chair in any position you prefer. As you can see in the photos, you could nearly sleep in this chair! The adjustable pillow adds to the overall comfort and can even be pushed all the way down and used as lower back support.

Now, it’s important to know that this is not a chair you are going to take with you on a lightweight backpacking trip. For us, when we are traveling with the toy hauler and have the extra space these chairs are perfect to take along. The frame is made with aluminum which helps cut down on weight, however, this chair still rings in right around 21 pounds. You definitely have to figure out if you’re willing to take on more weight for the comfort. If not, you’ll be like our past selves and think that small lightweight chairs are the only way to go. In certain situations, bringing on more weight for A TON more comfort is totally worth it.

Aside from the Zero Gravity Chair being ultra comfortable, it also has a nice little side table that can easily be stowed away when not in use. The table is perfect for a lil plate of breakfast, your evening cocktail, or Smore’s supplies. It includes a place to put your drink so it won’t tip over and also a little slot for your cell phone.

If you’re looking for an extremely comfortable chair that can fold up and be thrown in the trunk, look no further than the Zero Gravity Lounge Chair by Timber Ridge. You won’t want to get up once you sit in the Zero Gravity Chair! If you’re looking for a smaller and lighter option (without the reclining feature) be sure to check out the Timber Ridge Director’s Chair, another amazing option for your camp porch that weighs a bit less.

Pros

  • Extremely comfortable and relaxing to lounge in
  • Durable fabric will hold up over time
  • Nice tray table that can be stowed away if you don't need it
  • Can be locked into any place
  • Folds relatively* flat (*see photos)

Cons

  • I wouldn't walk into a store and pay this much for a camp/lounge chair, however, after trying it and loving it, the price has become more justified for me
  • Weight could be a con for some however if it is weight you are concerned about, this probably is not the chair for you
