[Review] NEW UPGRADE: The Extreme Aluminum Dock by Trail Tech (for the Voyager Pro)

If you have a Voyager Pro by Trail Tech, the new Extreme Aluminum Dock is something you should seriously consider! There are some great upgrades from the standard dock and once we started having connectivity issues with the standard dock, we knew it was time to make the switch.

Now, full disclosure, we have heard from many people who said their standard dock did not last “very long.” We’re not sure what that “not very long” time frame looks like, but we didn’t have issues with our first standard dock until 5 years into ownership. We feel as though that’s pretty great, especially for a piece of equipment that is used and abused in not the nicest of environments.

Anyways, we’re excited about the new Extreme Aluminum dock for a few reasons. First of all, the locking mechanism is a threaded knob that tightens down. It is secure and durable, yet still easy to remove the unit. The wiring is a little big longer so now the plugs aren’t directly below where you mount the Voyager Pro. You can now tuck all the plugs and wiring behind your number plate which looks much cleaner and gets them out of a more vulnerable space. Lastly, we are excited that Trail Tech upgraded the seal and pins. That is the fail point of my standard dock, and it’s always amazing to see companies recognize an issue and do something to fix it. The pins are mechanically improved and the seal is also improved for dust and water intrusion.

The new Extreme Dock bolts up exactly as the Standard Dock so this won’t take any time or headaches to switch over. It fits nicely with the Voyager Pro Protector. If you’re ready to upgrade your Voyager Pro dock, now is the time. If you have any questions, be sure to leave them below and as always thanks for reading!
