[Review] The Gibson Shell Bib by Orage

My one-quiver set this season includes the Corbet’s Shell Jacket and Gibson Shell Bib made by Orage. Whether I’m heading into the backcountry, sled skiing, or ripping around my favorite ski resort, both the Corbet’s Shell and Gibson Bib are versatile, durable, and bombproof when it comes to inclement weather.

Most notably, the venting system on the Gibson Bibs is perfect for backcountry skiing. Skinning up, I can have a ton of airflow on the 3/4 length zip on both legs. It’s key for cooling down when you’re working your way up. Not only does the zip system allow for great ventilation, but it’s also easy to use the restroom and I’m not talking about peeing. The entire back opens up making it very easy to access. There’s also a zip on the front of the bibs that makes peeing easy.

The fit of these bibs is pretty perfect for me. They’re the ideal length and they comfortably fit my torso. There is a bit of adjustability in the waist region, as well as some elastic, mesh paneling on the sides and back. No matter how many layers I’m wearing, I don’t feel constricted or uncomfortable. I’m 6’ tall, 190 pounds and wearing the size large.

The slimmer fit of these bibs makes them not only comfortable for skiing but also a great option for ice climbing. Aside from suburb waterproofing capabilities, these bibs are also durable and sure to stand up to the abuse of the ice.

With the Gibson Bibs, I know I am 100% protected from even the harshest of the elements but I’m also comfortable no matter what I’m doing. These won’t restrict you and you can definitely feel that they move with you not against you. If you’re in search of a bib that will go anywhere and do anything, look no further than the Gibson Bib by Orage. Durable, waterproof, bombproof, these bibs are the full package. Paired with the Corbet’s Shell Jacket, this kit will keep you dry and warm. Check out my review of the Gibson Bib and other Orage gear we’ve tried out this season.

*We received the Gibson Shell Bibs for free in exchange for a review, however, it’s important to know that all thoughts are our own.
